The New Gold of Switzerland
The Circular 1 collection is the first iconic time piece ever created by ID Genève. The stainless steel of our watch case is local and traceable. It comes from the waste of about forty watchmaking companies in the Jura and surrounding areas. The waste disposal center collects the scraps, flashes, sorts and stores them. Once the minimum quantity is reached, this waste is re-melted less than 200 kilometers away from Jura.
This steel grade 4441 is the Rolls Royce of stainless steel! We like to call it the “new gold” of Switzerland. The marking "4441" is marked on the back of the case and certifies its Swiss recycled origin
The carbon footprint of this steel is 10x lower than standard steel, certified by an independent expert in environmental performance. This also allows us to eliminate any new extractions of raw material.
